Another great covert activity plan by our CIA! Having been involved in the intelligence field a long time ago when I was in the military. I really appreciate the fact that this was pulled off and gave the United States some very needed intelligence.
The would-be bomber was actually a double agent for the CIA. The recent underwear bomb was supposed to be undetectable in the airports by their scanners. It contained no metal. There are still possibilities of others out there being armed with these bombs.
It’s time that the people of the United States realize there is a lot of things that need to be kept secret and we don’t need to know everything that the government is doing nor its military, nor the CIA, nor the FBI. Let’s stop requiring the government to reveal all its secrets. Sometimes putting out information can endanger our whole national security or individuals. In the security business information is only given on a “need to know” basis. It is not necessary for the citizens of the United States to have complete access.
We should be thankful. His mission was conducted in a tire Secrecy, which allowed us to gain information. We would not otherwise have. And it saves the lives of many Americans. Fortunately, this agent and his family have been relocated so they will not be endangered themselves.
The FBI is now examining the properties of this bomb with the goal of creating ways to detect it. This designer of this bomb is alleged to be the top bomb expert in Al Qaeda.
